Are you a Poet but don't know it

Cats are such beautiful, elegant and enchanting creatures, which is why artists have drawn them, storytellers have written about them and poets spoke verses about them over the centuries.

We would love to here any poems that you have written. You can submit your poems using the e-mail at the bottom of this page .

Blackcat Bayou

A cheery night-time bay tucked in
The corners of that twilight quilt
That mortals call the sea
With fairy lights and lanterns
All arranged in the Pacific lea
Where humans do celebrate
And have all kinds of festivity
But invisible to the human eye
The magical creatures prowl about
The witches, and the fairies
And the elves, and gnomes, and goblins
That laugh and chatter merrily
But then Zara the witch comes forward
At midnight, the witching hour
And with a welcome peal of laughter
Shakes her bangles at the sea
And suddenly, the talking stops
And a figure of sleek ebony
With eerie eyes that glow-in-the-dark
It mews in distress, and vanishes
In a puff of blue and purple smoke
With stars gleaming through
And hence it's name
Blackcat Bayou.
