Are you a Poet but don't know it

Cats are such beautiful, elegant and enchanting creatures, which is why artists have drawn them, storytellers have written about them and poets spoke verses about them over the centuries.

We would love to here any poems that you have written. You can submit your poems using the e-mail at the bottom of this page .

Cat-n-Mouse

She was a playful kitten with emerald eyes
that sparkled in the dark like celestials.
He was a large handsome mouse
with hazelnut eyes and a lusty mouth.
They dwelled together in the same corner.

In the morning he would fetch her
his cherished Muenster cheese,
And she would share her roll of sushi with spicy tuna,
followed by the hide-and-seek routine,
the leisure they both much fancied.

She loved to hide in the myriads
of the built-in closets or under the couch.
In search for his playmate
he would use his extensive whiskers
as an explicit weapon, she failed to resist.

Every time he touched her belly
she let herself go before reaching the stars and
purring blissfully: "jingle bell . . . "
In return, he would let her bite
his marvelous ears she adored more than her sushi.

Years were passing; one day his whiskers turned gray
but she couldn't discern it,
since her eyes grew weaker and sparkled less.
Their playground was reduced to the cluttered closets,
as their three-legged couch was moved out with broken frame.
Still they were playful and happy.

And so was I, the owner of that couch and their lenient tenant.
