Azrael

Azrael is a cartoon cat that appeared in the 1980's cartoon 'The smurfs'. Gargamel, Azrael's master, was always trying to catch the smurfs to use them in his potion to make gold. Azrael wanted the smurfs for a snack. The Smurfs was first created by Peyo Culliford in 1957. The first screened eposide was shown on the 12 September 1981.

Felix the Cat

Felix the Cat, created by Otto Messmer, first made his debut in 1919 in a short film called ‘Feline Follies’. Soon after Felix made transition to print. In 1960 Felix appeared in 260 new series and since then has been on television and print. In the 80’s Don Oriolio wrote and produced the feature film Felix the Cat Movie. Felix the cat’s most recent show is known as ‘The twisted tales of Felix the cat’.

Garfield

Garfield can be described as a fat and lazy cat that lives with Odie the dog and owned by Jon Arckbuckle. Garfield is created by Jim Davis and made its first appearance in 1978. Since then Garfield has appeared in newspapers and television.

Itchy and Scratchy

Itchy and Scratchy is a cartoon mouse and cat featured on the ‘Krusty the Klown show’, which is a show within the Simpsons. Scratchy, the cat, and Itchy the mouse partake in violent clashes with one another, which results in the killing of Scratchy. While the Springfield children love the show many of the parents do not. In one episode of the Simpsons Marge trys to get the Itchy and Scratchy cartoon banned. Not a show for cat lovers!

Krazy Kat

The first cartoon cat was Krazy Kat drawn by George Herriman in 1910. George worked for Hearst papers. Krazy Kat was later transferred from paper to screen. In 1921 Krazy Kat appeared in "Krazy Kat and Ignatz Mouse" where he was in love with Ignatz mouse who threw bricks at him.

Pink Panther

The Pink Panther was created by Friz Freleng in 1964 for the opening title sequence of the comedy show The Pink Panther. This led to the award winning academy award The ‘Pink Phink’. A series of cartoons followed, the first one being silent.

Snowball II

Snowball II presently lives with the Simpson family. Described as a lively cat, he performs tricks and chokes on hairballs. Snowball II gets along with Santa’s Little Helper (the family’s greyhound dog). They have even been known to snuggle up to each other.

The Aristocats

The Walt Disney's Aristocats was first released in 1970. Duchess, voiced by Eva Gabor, was an elegant cat from Paris who is kidnapped. She meets O'Malley, voiced by Phil Harris, who helps her return to Paris.

Tigger

Tigger first appeared in 1928 in the House at Pooh Corner. Tigger is Winnie the Pooh's friend. He is always jumping around. Known for his saying 'Ta Ta For Now'. Created by A A Milne and voice by Paul Winchell.

Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry is a cartoon classic. The basic storyline follows that Tom, the cat, is constantly chasing a mouse named Gerry. Of course Jerry never gets killed as he always has a plan, which often leaves Tom worse for wear. William Hanna and Joseph Barbara created this cat duo. There have been many Oscar nominations with seven Oscars awarded.

Topcat

Dressed in purple vest and flat hat, Topcat was known for his crazy scams. Officer Dribble always tried to get the better of Topcat but never succeeded. This cartoon was created by Hanna and Barbera. (voiced by Arnold Stang)

Topcat's Gang

Topcat's gang included: Choo Choo, Benny the Ball, The Brain, Fancy Fancy and Spook. Choo Choo: Choo Choo, a pink cat who wore a white polar neck top, was the tallest member of the gang. He was known as Top Cat's right hand man but was not the smartest of cats. (voiced by Marvin Kaplan) Benny the Ball Benny the ball was a short purple cat who wore a long sleeved jacket. He could be described as a very cute cuddly cat with a very gentle nature. (voiced by Maurice Gosfield) The Brain Brain, an orange colored cat, wore a purple t-shirt and a watch. Despite his name, Brain was not a very bright cat. In fact, he couldn’t even read his own watch. (voiced by Leo de Lyon) Fancy Fancy Like his name, Fancy Fancy quite fancied himself as a bit of a ladies man. In fact, you rarely saw him without a female companion. A brown cat with a white scarf, he was known to be the Gary Grant of the group. (voiced by John Stephenson) Spook Spook looked like Fancy Fancy but had different color scarve and fur. Spook was considered the cool cat of the group who dressed with a black collar and tie. (voiced by Leo de Lyon)

binka

Binka

Binka is a pre-school children's programme, which can be seen on the BBC. Binka is a very large furry cat, who is one quarter persian prince and three quarters greedy. Binka lives between three homes. His friends include Tango the puppy, Suki who he likes alot and spit who he doesn't like. (c) Honeycomb Animation Enterprises 2002

Snowball I

Snowball I was the original family cat in the cartoon sitcom The Simpsons. Lisa Simpson ‘broke her heart’ when Snowball I was hit by a car driven by the majors brother Clowis. Marge and Homer replaced Snowball I with an identical cat Snowball II.

Sylvester

Sylvester first made his debut in the 1945 cartoon ‘Life with Feathers’. Two more solo appearances were made before he met up with Tweety in Tweetie Pie. It is for these cartoons that he is best known. Sylvester also appeared with his son in many cartoons. The son was a miniature version of Sylvester. In these cartoons Sylvester was always embarrassing his son.
