Name: Cornish Rex (Other Shorthair Breeds)

Origin / History: The Cornish Rex first appeared in England in 1950. A kitten, born on a farm in Cornwall, was seen to have an unusual, curly coat. This kitten was mated back to its mother which resulted in kittens being born with the same unusual coats. This breed was originally known as the English Rex until the Devon Rex appeared in 1960.

Characteristics: A small to medium size cat, which is long but muscular. The rex has a curly short coat.

Personality: The Cornish rex is known for its lively personality and self-confidence. They love to interact with people and be included in family activities.
