Name: Balinese (Siamese)

Origin / History: Balinese is basically a Siamese with long hair. This breed was discovered in American when Siamese kittens were born with long hair. The name given was Balinese. A breeding program began and in 1963 the breed was given American recognition. In some cat associations no distinction is made between the Balinese and the Javanese.

Characteristics: The Balinese has a long muscular body with a silky color pointed coat. Cat associations that make the distinction between the Balinese and Javenese will accept Balinese in four solid colours of Seal black, blue, chocolate and lilac.

Personality: The Balinese is a smart and curious breed. Their curiosity can often get them into trouble. They are also a playful breed that love to be around people.
